Ciech SAPolish chemical sector wants sanctions on Belarusian salt producers
The Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry and listed chemicals group Ciech want sanctions to be imposed on Belarusian salt producers, the Chamber said in a press release.
"In cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry, Ciech, has requested the Minister of Development and Technology to take effective action in the area of sanctions on the EU salt market," the Chamber wrote.
Brewed and rock salt, unlike other groups of commodities, is not currently subject to sanctions.
The chamber writes that during a meeting at the Ministry of Development and Technology, representatives of the salt industry, supported by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry, stressed the need to weaken the Belarusian salt business in real terms, due to its active support of the regime there.
