Polish digital affairs ministry completes AI systems law consultations
Poland's Ministry of Digital Affairs has completed consultations on the draft law concerning artificial intelligence systems, receiving over 2,000 comments during the month-long process, the ministry said in a statement. The deputy minister of digital affairs Dariusz Standerski emphasised the importance of creating effective regulations to ensure the safe and stable development of AI in Poland.
"We are committed to putting in place good legislation that will enable the safe and stable development of artificial intelligence in Poland. Such great interest in the consultation process shows how important this topic is," said deputy minister Standerski, quoted in the statement.
The ministry has already considered some of the feedback received. After analysing all submissions, a new version of the draft law will be published on the government legislative centre's (RCL) website.
Key proposals include simplifying oversight systems, clarifying regulations for businesses, and expanding the role of social organisations in the advisory council for AI.
The law aims to facilitate the implementation of the EU's AI Act while supporting innovation and sustainable human-centred AI development.
It seeks to establish a regulatory framework that balances AI advancement with safety and citizen rights protection.
