Tauron power commissions 58.5 MW Mierzyn wind farm

Listed power group Tauron has commissioned the Mierzyn wind farm in the municipality of Karlino in the West Pomeranian region, with a total capacity of 58.5 MW, thereby achieving 0.5 GW of installed capacity using onshore technology, the company said in a press release.


It has been indicated that the production from the latest power plant will meet the energy needs of 68,000 households.

A total of 15 turbines, each with a capacity of 3.9 MW, have been placed in the municipality of Karlino, and the expected average annual energy production from the installation is estimated at 160 GWh.

Tauron will commission two more wind farms by the end of 2024 - Warblewo (30 MW) and Gamow (33 MW), and is building three other onshore installations - Miejska Gorka (190 MW), Sieradz (24 MW) and Nowa Brzeznica (20 MW). The company is also working on the commissioning of three photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 199 MW.
