Poland records PLN 4 bln increase of foreign investors' share in T-bonds to PLN 166.4 bln in July
Polish Treasury bonds saw the share of foreign investors increasing by PLN 4.0 billion (EUR 937.2 bln) in July to PLN 166.4 billion (EUR 39 bln), the Ministry of Finance said in statement.
"In July, domestic Treasury securities debt increased by PLN 17.6 billion, amounting to PLN 1,362.5 billion. This consisted of an increase in debt to domestic non-bank investors and to non-residents by PLN 18.4 billion (to PLN 502.8 billion) and PLN 4.0 billion (to PLN 166.4 billion), respectively, and a decrease in debt to banks (including Poland's central bank NBP) by PLN 4.8 billion (to PLN 693.3 billion)," the ministry wrote.
"As a result, the share of banks (including NBP) in domestic Treasury securities debt declined to 50.9 percent from 51.9 percent at the end of July (against 51.0 percent at end-December 2024), and the share of non-bank investors rose to 36.9 percent from 36.0 percent in the previous month (versus 36.4 percent at end-December 2024," it added.
The share of non-residents in domestic Treasury securities debt increased to 12.2 percent from 12.1 percent at the end of June (12.7 percent at the end of December 2024).
