Poland's energy price freeze not to be extended in '26 as household tariff's price will go lower than PLN 500
In 2026, there will be no energy price freeze in Poland because the price in the household tariff will be lower than the current freeze level of PLN 500 (EUR 117.45) per MWh, energy minister Miłosz Motyka told an interview with TVP Info. He added that the cost of freezing energy prices throughout 2025 will amount to over PLN 2 billion (EUR 469.8 mln).
"There will be no energy price increases this year. The second issue is that from the new year, we want to resign from freezing electricity prices, because the tariff price will simply be lower than PLN 500 per MWh. Market prices clearly indicate this," Motyka said.
He added that throughout 2025, the energy price freeze will cost the state budget over PLN 2 billion (EUR 469.8 mln).
Currently, household electricity consumers can benefit from a frozen price of PLN 500 (EUR 117.45) per MWh net until September 30.
