Poland's exports profitability declines in Q1 in view of PLN appreciation - c. bank
In the view of the Polish zloty's appreciation, the profitability of exports declined in the first quarter of 2025, according to Poland's central bank NBP latest 'Quick Monitoring' survey.
Poland's central bank NBP reported that during the period of filling out the survey, the zloty's market rate against the euro was weaker than the average threshold rate declared by companies for export profitability by 3.5 percent, against 5.9 percent in the previous quarter.
In the case of the dollar, the market rate was weaker than the threshold rate for profitable exports by 3.4 percent versus 8.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The percentage of exporters declaring export sales unprofitable rose to 15.9 percent from 14.2 percent in the previous quarter, which was also likely helped by reduced foreign demand.
