Poland's govt. wants domestic companies to be favoured in public tenders also over EU firms, says PM
The government wants to build a system of rules of conduct in public tenders that will favour the selection of Polish contractors in these tenders not only over non-EU companies, but also over EU contractors, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a speech before a cabinet meeting.
"We will also work together with the Public Procurement Office [UZP - MI ed.] and ministries on such rules of operation so that Polish companies also have a better chance than before in confrontation with EU companies," the Prime Minister said.
"We will draw on the best models from other EU countries, which are able to protect their contractors from those outside their country more effectively than has been the case for years in Poland. (...) We will build a system of recommendations and rules of conduct that will effectively protect Polish contractors and suppliers," he added.
