Poland's HICP inflation up to 2.9 pct y/y in September - Eurostat
Poland's harmonised annual HICP inflation increased to 2.9 percent year on year in September, compared to the August reading of 2.7 percent, the EU stats office Eurostat reported. On a monthly basis, prices increased by 0.2 percent.
The HICP is a harmonised index of consumer prices, calculated according to the harmonised methodology of the European Union's stats office Eurostat.
According to the inflation criterion in the Maastricht Treaty, the HICP is the basis for assessing price stability.
Data for HICP inflation are derived from household budget expenditure and national accounts, and for CPI - from household budget expenditure only.
