Poland's inflation peak in February at 5 pct, followed by gradual decline, says MPC member
Poland's inflation will reach its peak of 5 percent in February, and it will be followed by a gradual decline, the Monetary Policy Council member Ludwik Kotecki told TVN 24.
"The maximum level of inflation will be at 5 percent in February," Kotecki assessed.
"From March onwards, we will have a decline, including a very strong decline from July onwards," he added.
Poland's MPC member continued that the Polish economy needs looser monetary policy to give a boost to the economy.
"Last year the economy grew by 2.8 percent, this year it will be a bit better. It seems that the economy needs looser monetary policy," Kotecki said.
