Polish households' financial situation improves in 2023 - stats office
Polish households' financial situation has improved in 2023, Poland's stats office GUS reported.
"Polish households saw both higher nominal income and higher spending in 2023. The level of average monthly disposable income per person (rounded up to PLN 1) amounted to PLN 2,678 in 2023 and was nominally higher by 13.7 percent from 2022 and realistically higher by 2.1 percent," GUS wrote.
Average monthly disposable spending per person in Polish households amounted to PLN 1,636 (EUR 382.5) in 2023 and were nominally higher by 9.4 percent and realistically lower by 1.8 percent from spendings in 2022.
GUS stated that a relatively large difference between average income and spending persisted between different socioeconomic household groups in 2023.
The stats office wrote that the biggest percentage share of spendings in all of the households was represented, simillarly to previous years, by food and non-alcoholic beverages at 27.2 percent.
The second position in the spendings is occupied by utilities and energy spending, which amounted to 19.9 percent on average.
