Polish zloty exchange rate still at unfavourable level for Polish exporters, says FinMin
The exchange rate of zloty remains at an unfavourable level for Polish exporters, Poland's finance minister Andrzej Domanski assessed at a conference. The Ministry of Finance maintains its forecast for Poland's GDP growth in 2025 at 3.9 percent but sees challenges to growth. According to the ministry, Poland's GDP in the fourth quarter of 2024 will be around 2.8-2.9 percent.
"Our current forecast is still 3.9 percent economic growth in 2025. Of course, we see various challenges facing growth in Poland, first and foremost the weak situation in the eurozone - PMI indicators in the eurozone are still at a low level, the zloty exchange rate remains not very favourable for Polish exporters," Domanski said.
"Our current forecast remains unchanged, but we see challenges to it," he added.
In the 2025 budget, the finance ministry assumed that Poland's GDP would grow by 3.9 percent next year.
Domanski indicated that Poland's GDP in the fourth quarter of 2024 should grow by around 2.8-2.9 percent.
