K. Gawkowski to remain Deputy PM and digital affairs minister after government reshuffle
When asked on Wednesday on RMF FM radio whether he would remain Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and minister of digital affairs after the government reshuffle, Krzysztof Gawkowski confirmed that he would. He stated that "it is probably no secret to anyone today" that a large economic ministry will be created.
When asked what the left (Nowa Lewica - New Left party, member of a current ruling coalition - MI ed.) would give up in the context of the announced government reshuffle, Gawkowski replied that "there will be such elements", but that Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the leader of the New Left, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, would provide information on this.
"I am staying. But I was ready for any solution, just as every minister should be ready for all solutions," Gawkowski said, confirming that he is to retain his office.
Asked whether a large economic ministry would be created, Deputy PM replied: "Yes, I think that's no secret to anyone today."
"It should be created, it must be created, this is also the result of observations of the government's work over the last few months. We need economic strengthening, acceleration in some areas, and better coordination of legislation in others. And this will happen," he assessed.
