Poland has no plan for PGZ arms to invest in JSW coal - state assets minister
Poland has no plans for the Polish Armaments Group PGZ to invest in listed coking coal producer JSW, Minister of State Assets Wojciech Balczun informed. The aim is to include JSW in the supply chain, mainly through the supply of coking coal to the Czestochowa steelworks.
"It is about including JSW in the production chain, together with the raw material necessary to produce our own steel in Poland as part of improving safety," Minister Wojciech Balczun told a press conference on Monday.
"The discussion boils down to the fact that JSW is a key asset for us in terms of coking coal mining, without which it would be difficult to imagine producing our own steel," he added.
The minister added that JSW has a role to play in ensuring stable coal supplies to the Czestochowa steelworks.
"There are no plans for PGZ to directly invest in JSW. These are completely separate activities," said Wojciech Balczun.
