Grupa Azoty SAAzoty chemicals ink deal with Ukrainian Agroprosperis for supply of NPK fertilisers
Listed chemicals group Azoty has signed a contract with Ukraine's Agroprosperis group for the supply of NPK fertilisers, Azoty said in a press release. The first delivery of fertilisers was made in December 2024, with further deliveries scheduled for January.
The press release indicated that Azoty group's new counterparty is the largest producer and exporter of agricultural crops, with foreign investments in the Black Sea region.
"Grupa Azoty is a reliable business partner with a broad product offering, prepared to serve a large and demanding market such as Ukraine," said the head of group's commercial division Wojciech Wegrzynek, quoted in the press release.
"We will confirm our potential in the coming periods by increasing our commercial activity in this [Ukrainian - PAP ed.] direction and developing appropriate logistics solutions," he added.
As the release pointed out, the Ukrainian market is one of the key markets for NPK fertiliser sales in Eastern Europe. One of the most important industries in Ukraine is the agricultural sector, which accounts for 10.9 percent of the country's GDP.
NPK fertilisers have an important role in maximising the efficiency of AGRO production, by increasing yields and realising agricultural production with the highest quality parameters.
Grupa Azoty is the EU's second largest producer of nitrogen and compound fertilisers. It is the only melamine producer in Poland. It also manufactures products such as polyamide, OXO alcohols, plasticisers and titanium white. Azoty group is a joint-stock company in which the State Treasury holds 33 percent of the shares.
