Poland to adopt resolution committing to purchase of submarines by end-2025, says PM
On Wednesday, the government will adopt a resolution committing to the purchase of submarines under the ORKA programme by the end of the year, Poland's Prime Minister announced at a briefing in Ustka, northern Poland.
"Tomorrow, the government will make a decision on launching the ORKA programme. We have been waiting for this for a long time, and tomorrow we will adopt a government resolution committing us to purchasing submarines by the end of this year," Prime Minister Tusk announced.
"(...) All offers have been analysed, they are precisely itemised, and now the Polish government will make the final decision on who will be our ultimate partner in this programme," he added.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers will be held on Wednesday at 13 local time. The agenda indicates that the government will review information on the status of work on the acquisition of new-type submarines (OPNT) codenamed 'ORKA'.
