GPW SAWSE with historic session share turnover record of PLN 6.86 bln on Friday
Friday's session saw a historic session turnover record of PLN 6.86 billion (EUR 1.6 bln) for shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange's Main Market According to the WSE, the previous record set on March 24, 2015, was PLN 6.02 billion (EUR 1.4 bln).
According to WSE calculations, the average daily session turnover last week was PLN 2.95 billion (EUR 694.14 mln).
The exchange's operator pointed out that the turnover record is, among other things, the result of a revision of index portfolios - global and local investors rotated positions heavily ahead of the new month.
During the week of May 23-30, the large-cap WIG20 index gained 2.02 percent (26.45 percent year-to-date), the WIG rose 1.55 percent (27.52 percent year-to-date), the mWIG40 rose 0.09 percent (26.77 percent year-to-date), and the sWIG80 gained 1.02 percent (21.01 percent year-to-date).
