Energy prices for households will not increase by end of year, says FinMin
Energy prices for households will not increase by the end of the year, Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski told TVN.
"By the end of the year, energy prices for households will not increase," Domanski told TVN.
"Still significant two things. First, energy prices on the energy exchange are falling this year. This we are already seeing at the moment the price of energy with delivery for 2026, it is about PLN 416, about PLN 440 at the end of last year, so we are seeing these decreases," he added.
Domanski said that on Thursday, the deputy chairman of the Poland's energy market regulator URE said that the tariffs that power companies should apply for should be lower. Around PLN 500 (EUR 119.65) in the next period.
The minister reported that the number of renewable connections to the grid is clearly increasing.
"In the history of Poland, never has so little energy been produced from coal. We have more from renewable sources, which are the cheapest," he said.
"We are implementing a program to build Poland's nuclear power industry (...) Almost PLN 5 billion secured for the first Polish nuclear power plant," he added.
