Orlen SAOrlen energy and National Food Industry Group sign agreement on increasing biomethane output
Poland's largest energy concern Orlen and the National Food Industry Group (KGS) have signed an agreement covering, among other things, the construction of a biomethane production plant, Orlen announced in a press release.
Orlen said that the agreement covers cooperation in the optimal use of own resources, including agricultural and post-production waste, and securing areas for fertilisation with digestate – a product derived from agricultural biogas plants.
"The partners also want to jointly develop biomethane production. The first step on this path will be to identify sites potentially suitable for the construction of facilities for the production of this fuel. First, the land owned by KGS will be analysed, but the companies do not rule out other locations that would be suitable for the investment," the concern said in the press release.
"Orlen and KGS will also cooperate in the production and distribution of biomethane, including obtaining the required administrative approvals and relevant certificates confirming the origin of the fuel produced," it added.
