Polish macroprudential body upholds recommendation on countercyclical buffer rate
Poland's macroprudential body KSF-M upholds its earlier recommendation on the countercyclical buffer rate, according to a statement issued after the KSF-M's meeting.
"In performing its statutory duties, the body adopted a resolution upholding its recommendation of June 14, 2024 to the Minister of Finance on the countercyclical buffer rate. The target rate recommended by the body is 2 percent, to be reached in stages. In the first stage, the countercyclical buffer rate introduced by the Minister of Finance's regulation and required from September 25, 2025 is 1 percent," the statement reads.
"The representative of the Minister of Finance accepted the recommendation and announced the progress of legislative work aimed at issuing a new regulation establishing the countercyclical buffer rate at 2 percent 12 months after the date of publication of the regulation, fulfilling the second stage of the body's recommendation," it added.
The countercyclical buffer rate introduced by the Minister of Finance's regulation and applied from September 25, 2025 is 1 percent.
