Amica SAAmica white goods posts PLN 6.7 mln net loss in Q1 2025, against PLN 1.5 mln profit expected
Listed white goods producer Amica posted a PLN 6.7 million (EUR 1.6 mln) attributable net loss in the first quarter of 2025, against a PLN 3.1 million (EUR 728,810) net profit in the prior year period, the group's financial report has shown. The PAP Biznes consensus was for a PLN 1.5 million (EUR 352,650) net take.
The group's EBITDA in the first quarter of 2025 was PLN 18.4 million (EUR 4.3 mln) and EBIT was PLN 3.1 million (EUR 728,810). Analysts had expected an EBITDA of PLN 23.5 million (EUR 5.5 mln) and an EBIT of PLN 8.7 million (EUR 2.04 mln).
Revenues fell by 9.8 percent year on year to PLN 566.9 million (EUR 133.3 mln), below the market expectations of PLN 622.5 million (EUR 146.35 mln).
"As in previous years, in the first quarter of 2025, the white goods industry faced numerous challenges, including issues related to the geopolitical situation, real estate markets, high interest rates," Amica's management report said.
Amica said that the first quarter saw a decline in product and merchandise sales in most sales markets compared to 2024.
"The group is measuring itself against a volume decline in products sold, which is reflected in current trends in all regions. In the white goods industry, we are also seeing increased marketing activity from competitors and the need for lower prices of goods for consumers, which is associated with customers looking for cheaper alternatives," the company said in the report.
As added, despite the negative values of consumer sentiment and consumer confidence indicators, the first quarter saw a recovery in the Polish market, which resulted in a year-on-year increase in the value of sales of household appliances.
Revenues for the Poland region were affected by the sale of Stadion Poznan. This translated into a decrease in the value of revenues by approximately PLN 8 million (EUR 1.9 mln) year on year.
