Asseco Poland IT works to acquire cybersecurity company

Listed IT group Asseco Poland is working on the acquisition of a company in the area of cybersecurity, group representatives told a press conference.

"As far as cybersecurity is considered, (...) internally we have made a lot of progress. (...) We are currently exploring the market searching for a cybersecurity company that provides services in this area; we want to buy such a company," CEO Adam Goral said.

Asseco Poland consolidated order backlog for 2025, in the area of software and proprietary services, is now worth more than PLN 10.8 billion (EUR 2.6 bln). At constant exchange rates, in which the backlog for 2024 was recalculated, the order backlog is 9 percent higher than in the prior year period.

Deputy CEO Karolina Rzonca-Bajorek pointed out that the group's results were significantly affected by foreign exchange rates.

As the group reported, excluding this effect, Asseco Poland's revenues increased by 6 percent and operating profit rose by 14 percent.

"Regarding solutions for public institutions, the Asseco Poland segment grew by 9 percent year on year in 2024," deputy CEO Marek Panek said.

It was reported that in 2025, the group's priority remains to maintain its leading position as a digitisation leader in the banking, energy, telecommunications, healthcare and public administration sectors.

Asseco Poland posted PLN 150.7 million (EUR 35.9 mln) attributable net profit in the fourth quarter of 2024, above the market expectation for a PLN 138.6 million (EUR 33.1 mln) net take.

In a separate filing, the company said that Asseco Poland's supervisory board had given a positive opinion on the management board's recommendation to allocate PLN 268.7 million (EUR 64.1 mln) from the net profit earned in 2024 to the payment of dividends, which would yield PLN 3.94 (EUR 0.94) per share.
