Polimex Mostostal SAAzoty Pulawy reports to prosecutor suspected crime of trust breach in May 2023
Listed chemicals group Azoty's unit, Azoty Pulawy, has handed over a notice to the National Public Prosecutor's Office on a reasonable suspicion that an offence of abuse of trust in business dealings and causing damage to the company's property of great magnitude was committed in May 2023, Azoty said in a market filing.
According to Azoty Pulawy, the alleged financial damage resulted from abuse of authority and failure to fulfil duties by persons responsible for managing the company’s assets and business, related to the contract for building a coal-fuelled power block in Pulawy.
The company is also reviewing whether to notify authorities regarding the decision to build the coal power block itself.
In January, Azoty Pulawy group informed listed builder Polimex Mostostal that it had withdrawn from the contract for the construction of a coal-fuelled power unit in Pulawy in the unfulfilled part due to the contractor's fault.
Polimex Mostostal indicated that the declaration of withdrawal from the contract by Azoty Pulawy was unfounded.
