BNP Paribas Bank Polska SABNP Paribas BP lender wants to pay out dividends; works on strategy for 2026-2030
Listed bank BNP Paribas Bank Polska wants to remain a dividend bank and will present a new strategy for 2026-2030 by the end of the year, the lender's CEO Przemek Gdanski told a conference. He added that he hoped CHF loan provisions would be on a downward trend.
The management board of BNP Paribas BP recommends that from the net profit for 2024, the amount of PLN 1.16 billion (EUR 276.43 mln) should be earmarked for dividend payment, translating into a dividend of PLN 7.86 (EUR 1.87) per share. The board's recommendation is for 50 percent of 2024 profit to be paid out as dividends.
A year ago, BNP Paribas Bank Polska paid out a dividend of PLN 503.9 million (EUR 120.1 mln), or PLN 3.41 (EUR 0.81) per share. It was the first dividend in the bank's history.
"I would like our bank to be a dividend company, I hope that this trend will be maintained," Gdanski told the conference.
The CEO said that BNP Paribas BP had started working on a new strategy.
"By the end of the year, the bank wants to present a new strategy for 2026-2030," Gdanski announced.
The provision for legal risk of CHF housing loans in the fourth quarter of 2024 amounted to PLN 308 million (EUR 73.4 mln).
"I hope that this level will be in a downward trend, the CHF loans saga is not over," Gdanski pointed out.
The bank said that the decline in the number of individual customers in 2024 was due to the base-cleaning effect.
