Enea SAEnea power's unit has PLN 170.1 mln worth agreement to subsidise modernisation of power grid
Listed power group Enea's unit, Enea Operator, has signed an agreement with Poland's national researcher Oil and Gas Institute for co-financing of the project 'Increasing flexibility and continuity of power supply by improving the operation of the MV network neutral point at Enea Operator', Enea said in a press release. The value of the investment is PLN 170.1 million (EUR 39.2 mln).
It was indicated that investment is to be implemented between 2024 and 2027.
Enea said in the press release that PLN 100.3 million (EUR 23.1 mln) for the investment comes from EU funds under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021-2027 (FEnIKS) programme.
As stated, the project will include the modernisation of nearly one hundred high-voltage substations to medium-voltage (HV/MV). It will be realised in the Greater Poland, West Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lubusz and parts of the Lower Silesian and Pomeranian regions.
"Thanks to the implementation of this project, we will strengthen the security of our network infrastructure by adapting the equipment to current network conditions related to the connection of RES," said the deputy CEO for grid infrastructure at Enea Operator Bogumila Strzelecka, quoted in the press release.
