Polimex Mostostal SAEnerga power inks PLN 3 bln deal with general contractor for CCGT power plant in Gdansk
CCGT Gdansk, the subsidiary of Energa, listed power utility owned by Poland's largest energy concern Orlen, has signed an approximately PLN 3 billion (EUR 706.2 mln) contract with a consortium of Polimex Mostostal, Siemens Energy Global and Siemens Energy Sp. z o.o. for the design and construction of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Gdansk with a net capacity of approximately 561 MWe, Energa announced in a press release.
The planned power plant will be designed and constructed by the general contractor as a single-unit facility: with one gas turbine, a recovery boiler, a condensing steam turbine unit and a wet cooling tower.
The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis, covering all works. The project schedule envisages the commencement of construction works in 2025 and the commissioning of the power plant in 2029.
In July 2025, Energa concluded a 17-year contract with the Transmission System Operator (OSI) under the capacity market with a capacity obligation of 525.224 MW, with the first year of supply falling in 2029.
Energa's total expected revenue from this contract during its term may amount to at least approximately PLN 4.8 billion (EUR 1.1 bln).
