ING BSK bank posts PLN 964.7 mln net profit in Q2, below expectations

Listed lender ING Bank Slaski's net profit in the second quarter of 2024 fell to PLN 964.7 million (EUR 224 mln) from PLN 1.099 billion (EUR 255.2 mln) in the prior year period, the bank said in a quarterly report. The result was 1.5 percent below market expectations of nearly PLN 980 million (EUR 227.4 mln).

The expectations of eight brokerages for the second-quarter net result ranged from PLN 868.8 million to 1.098 billion (EUR 201.7 mln - 255 mln).

Bank's net profit in the second quarter of 2024 decreased by 1.5 percent year on year and decreased by 3 percent quarter on quarter.

Provisions amounted to PLN 291.9 million (EUR 67.8 mln) in the second quarter and were 31 percent higher than analysts' expectations of PLN 222.9 million (EUR 51.8 mln). Provisions rose by 48 percent year on year and 49 percent compared to the previous quarter.
