JSW coal counts on positive outcome on licence for Debiensko 1 coal deposit

Listed coking coal producer JSW is counting on a positive outcome regarding the exploration licence for the Debiensko 1 deposit, deputy CEO Adam Rozmus said.


"We have a number of assets regarding a positive outcome. (...) the licensing authorities will assess the capabilities of specific entrepreneurs in terms of thorough exploration of the deposit, technical possibilities of entering the deposit and credibility," JSW's deputy CEO Adam Rozmus said during a conference call.

"I would argue that all three of these elements put us in a far better position than our competitors," he added.

He stipulated that officially the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment does not inform about other applications, but media reports indicate that one of the companies has also submitted such an application.

"It is a competitive application for us, it covers exactly the areas we are interested in," JSW's deputy CEO said.

Rozmus recalled that the JSW group wants to acquire new coking coal deposits, one of which is Debiensko I.
