Orlen energy's Norwegian upstream unit acquires shares in North Sea crude field

Poland's largest energy concern Orlen's unit, Orlen Upstream Norway has signed an agreement with TotalEnergies EP Norge to purchase shares in the Tommeliten Gamma field in the Ekofisk area. The finalisation of the transaction will increase the company's resources by almost 6 million barrels of oil equivalent, and exploitation of the field is expected to commence in 2029, the company announced in a market filing.


It was announced that as a result of the transaction, Orlen Upstream Norway will acquire an additional 20.23 percent stake in the Tommeliten Gamma field, thereby increasing its stake to 62.61 percent.
