Orlen SAOrlen wants to reorganise its energy segment, followed by reorganisation of entire group
Poland's largest energy concern Orlen is working on reorganising its energy segment, which will be the starting point for reorganisation of the entire group, Slawomir Staszak, Orlen's board member responsible for energy and energy transformation, told a panel at the Europower Congress in Warsaw. In his opinion, listed power utility Energa, part of the concern, should be the leader of the energy project, understood as energy and heat combined.
"At Orlen, we plan to segment our various divisions. I am responsible for the energy division, and by energy we mean not only electricity but also heat, i.e. Orlen Termika. My task is to organise this segment in its entirety," Staszak told a panel discussion at the Europower Congress.
"I cannot imagine Energa not being the leader of this project, because it is naturally predestined for this, and it is also a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange," he added.
The member of the Orlen management board did not want to comment on the question of the potential spin-off of Energa from Orlen.
"I will not answer directly, because this is the subject of our internal analyses, but we are working very hard, and the results of this work will be communicated very soon. We are doing everything we can to reorganise the energy segment, which will be the starting point for reorganising the entire Orlen group," Staszak announced.
