Poland's energy market regulator works on two scenarios for offshore auction in December
Poland's energy market regulator URE works on two scenarios for the first offshore auction in Poland scheduled for December, 17, head of RES department at URE Radoslaw Walaszczyk told a panel during the Energy Days in Katowice. The first scenario assumes that an amendment to the offshore act will be implemented before the auction, while the second one assumes the delay in its implementation.
"We are under growing pressure of time (...), because a period between the upcoming auction on December 17 and the possible date of the amendment implementation (UD162) is shrinking," Walaszczyk said.
He added that the amendment is scheduled for the first reading in the Polish parliament on October 7, and it will need a presidential signature.
"In this difficult regulatory environment, we have to rise to the challenge. We are working on two scenarios, including the scenario in which we will have to conduct the auction for offshore projects within the existing regulatory framework," Walaszczyk explained.
"The second scenario with the amendment implemented on time is much better in terms of the efficiency of the auction and projects," he added.
