BNP Paribas Bank Polska SAPoland's financial market regulator approves issue of Tier II capital bonds by BNP Paribas BP lender
Listed lender BNP Paribas BP has received approval from Poland's financial market regulator (KNF) to classify capital bonds with a total value of EUR 160 million, issued on June 6, 2025, as Tier II capital instruments, the bank said in a market filing.
"The bank's assumption is that the funds obtained from the bond issue will replace the funds obtained by the bank from subordinated loans in the amounts of EUR 60 million, CHF 60 million and EUR 40 million, about which the bank informed (...) and which are subject to prudential amortisation," the statement said.
It added that the early repayment of these loans, subject to prior approval by Poland's financial market regulator (KNF), is planned for the third quarter of 2025.
As indicated, the above consent and the planned early repayment of the subordinated loans described above will improve the consolidated and separate total capital ratio (TCR) by 0.31 percentage points (estimate based on data as at June 30, 2025).
