Poland's road authority announces tender for lease of land for RES installations

Poland's road authority GDDKiA has announced a tender for the lease of land for the construction of renewable energy source installations, according to a press release from the GDDKiA. It added that the pilot project is intended to assess market interest in this form of green energy generation.


"We want to lease an area of over 8 ha (...). The lease agreement will be concluded for 29 years, and the lessee will be obliged to build a RES installation together with all accompanying infrastructure (e.g. energy storage) and transmission infrastructure," it was written.

"The lessee will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the installation. Green energy obtained from renewable energy sources will power, among other things, the lighting on the A1 motorway and national road No. 72 in the Lodz Province," it was added.

As stated, the lessee will be obliged to pay rent to GDDKiA and supply electricity to the road infrastructure, and will be able to sell surplus electricity to external customers.

The deadline for all interested contractors to prepare and submit their bids has been set for December 22, 2025.
