Polenergia SAPolenergia renewables and KGHM copper signes contract for supply of energy from renewable sources
Listed renewables group Polenergia and listed copper group KGHM have signed a contract for the supply of energy from renewable sources, Polenergia announced in a press release. The annual supply volume will amount to approximately 42 GWh.
"Polish industry has enormous potential in terms of energy transformation. Polenergia is responding to these needs by offering solutions tailored to market expectations," said Polenergia's CEO Adam Purwin, quoted in the press release.
"cPPA contracts not only ensure access to clean energy, but also financial stability – even for the most energy-intensive sectors of the economy," he added.
All the contracted energy will be produced at Polenergia's Puck Wind Farm. Deliveries will commence on January 1, 2026.
Polenergia sells renewable energy directly to customers from its 13 wind farms and 8 photovoltaic farms, totalling 642 MW capacity.
The company is expanding onshore projects and, with Norway’s Equinor, is building the Baltyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms (1,440 MW) to supply over 2 million Polish households. The largest second-phase offshore project, Baltyk 1 (up to 1,560 MW), is also being prepared for a December auction.
