Polish banks expect demand to grow for almost all types of loans in Q3 2025 - c. bank
In the third quarter of 2025, Polish lenders intend to maintain their lending criteria for businesses and continue to ease them for households. They also expect demand to grow for all types of loans, except for short-term loans for large companies, according to a quarterly survey of bank lending committees conducted by Poland's central bank NBP.
"In the third quarter of 2025, banks intend to maintain their current criteria for granting loans to businesses and continue to ease conditions for households. They expect an increase in demand for all types of loans, except for short-term loans to large enterprises," Poland's central bank said in the report on the survey.
In the second quarter of 2025, Polish lenders eased their lending policies and recorded an increase in demand in all segments of the credit market.
"The easing of lending criteria was mainly due to increased competitive pressure from other banks. The reduction in NBP interest rates was an additional reason for easing lending criteria for households and at the same time supported demand for loans," NBP assessed.
"In all market segments, banks eased lending conditions by reducing credit margins, most often in the case of housing and consumer loans," it added.
