Polish banks want to ease lending policies, expect loans demand to grow in Q4 - c. bank
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Polish banks intend to ease lending policies for businesses and households, according to a quarterly survey of bank lending committees conducted by Poland's central bank NBP. Domestic lenders expect demand for all types of loans to increase in the last quarter of the year, especially short-term loans for businesses.
"In the fourth quarter of 2025, banks intend to ease their lending policies for both businesses and households. At the same time, they expect an increase in demand for all types of loans, especially short-term loans for businesses," Poland's central bank said in the report.
The NBP added that in the third quarter of 2025, banks did not significantly change the criteria for granting most loans, with the exception of consumer loans.
"The easing of criteria in this segment was mainly due to increased competitive pressure from other banks, as well as a reduction in NBP interest rates," the central bank pointed out.
"The latter factor also supported demand for loans. In all market segments, banks eased lending conditions by reducing credit margins," it added.
