MOL Rt.Slovnaft Polska fuels to be integrated into structure of Polish branch of MOL
Hungarian fuels group MOL's subsidiary, Slovnaft Polska, will be integrated into the structure of MOL Polska, MOL said in a press release. As stated, the formal merger will allow the company to offer customers a consistent, comprehensive wholesale and retail offer.
The merger of the MOL Group companies will take place in two steps: in the first step, MOL Polska has acquired shares in Slovnaft Polska. In the next step, it is planned to transfer the activities of Slovnaft Polska to the structures of MOL Polska.
However, operational issues will remain unchanged on the part of Slovnaft Polska, which will operate as the wholesale division of MOL Polska, with the headquarters of the office remaining in Cracow.
It has been indicated that the Slovnaft Partner programme, which currently covers 88 fuel stations, will also continue to operate, and the group will work with its partners on a smooth transition to MOL Polska. The formal merger is expected to take place by the end of 2025.
By then, the target structure of the merged organisation is to be developed.
"In time, we do not exclude the inclusion of our partners in the MOL network in Poland, but we want to first discuss the possible timing and conditions of such a change in detail with each of the owners of the stations we cooperate with," said the CEO of MOL Polska Richard Austen.
It has been reported that the organisational change will not cause major changes for the Slovnaft Polska team, which will become part of MOL Polska after the merger.
Slovnaft Polska has been active on the wholesale market since 1997, mainly in southern Poland. The company imports, stores and wholesales liquid fuels produced at MOL Group refineries.
Fuels imported to Poland come from the group's refineries in Bratislava and Százhalombatta in Hungary. Direct deliveries from these two refineries are made by rail, and fuels are stored at fuel terminals in southern Poland.
Since 2006, Slovnaft Polska has been running its proprietary Slovnaft Partner programme, under which the company supplies fuels to nearly 90 fuel stations operating mainly in southern Poland.
