Listed power utility Tauron Group prefers the solution of coal assets' spin-off, but the company is also ready for other scenarios and plans to continue the transformation regardless of the model, the company's CEO Grzegorz Lot told a press conference.
"Whether the spin-off will be now or in a year or two years, I will not answer. This is a decision-making process that goes beyond the company," Tauron's CEO said.
As he reported, the company is preparing for various scenarios, including the one that the spin-off of coal assets will not happen.
"For us, the spin-off of assets is the preferred solution because it gives us great investment opportunities. If the separation of assets does not happen, we will still analyse them, but in other models," Grzegorz Lot said.
"We are prepared organisationally, conceptually. This is one of the strategic directions, but we are also preparing a strategy when the assets' spin-off does not happen, and we are taking on the whole transformation. (...) Regardless of whether there will be a spin-off or not, we will implement the transformation plan, in different models," he added.
