PZU SAUPDATE: PZU insurer posts PLN 1.47 bln attrib. net profit in Q2 2025, slightly above expectations
Listed insurance group PZU posted PLN 1.47 billion (EUR 344.7 mln) attributable net profit in the second quarter of 2025, above the PAP Biznes consensus for PLN 1.416 billion (EUR 332.1 mln) net take, PZU's financial report showed.
The expectations of six brokerages regarding net profit for the second quarter ranged from PLN 1,351.6 million (EUR 316.9 mln) to PLN 1,533.7 million (EUR 359.7 mln).
PZU's net profit in the second quarter of 2025 increased by 23.3 percent year on year and decreased by 16.5 percent quarter on quarter. After the first half of 2025, net profit amounts to PLN 3,230 million (EUR 757.4 mln).
Gross insurance revenue amounted to PLN 7,693 million (EUR 1.8 bln) and was in line with the consensus of PLN 7,711 million (EUR 1.8 bln). Gross insurance revenue increased by 5.6 percent year on year and 2.1 percent quarter on quarter.
Insurance service costs amounted to PLN 6,295 million (EUR 1.5 bln), which means that they were in line with expectations of PLN 6,269 million (EUR 1.5 bln). Insurance service costs increased by 5 percent year on year and 8.9 percent quarter on quarter.
The result on insurance services amounted to PLN 904 million (EUR 211.9 mln) and was 6.7 percent lower than the consensus of PLN 969 million (EUR 227.2 mln). The result on insurance services increased by 11.2 percent year on year and decreased by 27.7 percent quarter on quarter.
