GPW SAWSE sees record share turnover in 2024, rises to PLN 25.4 bln in December
The total value of share trading on the WSE's Main Market amounted to PLN 25.4 billion (EUR 5.94 bln) in December, an increase of 5.4 percent year on year. 2024 turned out to be a record year in terms of share turnover on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the exchange said in a release.
For the whole of 2024, turnover amounted to PLN 344.8 billion (EUR 80.65 bln), up 22.2 percent year on year.
Order book turnover amounted to PLN 25 billion (EUR 5.85 bln) in December, up 5.1 percent year on year. The average daily value of order book trading in shares was PLN 1.39 billion (EUR 325 mln), up 10.9 percent year on year.
At the end of December, the WIG index reached 79,577.32 points, a year on year increase of 1.4 percent.
In December, the value of trading in structured products increased by 47 percent year on year, reaching PLN 203.6 million (EUR 47.6 mln).
The total value of trading in ETFs and ETCs increased by 19.2 percent year on year in December, reaching PLN 139.2 million (EUR 32.6 mln).
The capitalisation of the 368 domestic companies listed on the WSE's Main Market amounted to PLN 731.9 billion (EUR 171.3 billion) at the end of December.
The total capitalisation of all 411 companies, both domestic and foreign, reached PLN 1,491.7 billion (EUR 349 billion).
In December, the shares of two companies were listed on the WSE's Main Market.
The technology company Noctiluca, which develops advanced chemical compounds that are a key component of OLED panels, and Neptis, a manufacturer, supplier and operator of innovative solutions in the area of vehicle monitoring, car navigation and the creator and operator of the Yanosik communicator for drivers.
