Fight for permanent reduction in CPI not over; uncertainty over energy prices - c. bank governor
The fight for a permanent reduction in CPI is not over, because of uncertainty over energy prices, Poland's central bank NBP governor Adam Glapinski told Thursday's press conference following the MPC decision-making meeting held on Thursday. He added that the main pro-inflationary factor remains loose fiscal policy
"However, this does not mean in any way that the fight for a permanent reduction in inflation has ended, that we have entered the port, especially since there are many factors that may hinder a further decline in inflation," Glapiński said.
Among the risk factors for inflation, the NBP governor indicated uncertainty regarding the energy prices in the second half of the year, an acceleration in GDP growth in 2025 and fiscal policy.
