Poland records PLN 1.9 bln decrease of foreign investors' share in T-bonds to PLN 148.4 bln in December
Polish Treasury bonds saw the share of foreign investors decreased by PLN 1.9 billion (EUR 451.1 mln) in December 2024 to PLN 148.4 billion (EUR 35.23 bln), the Ministry of Finance said in statement.
"In December, domestic Treasury securities debt increased by PLN 23.3 billion and amounted to PLN 1,171.5 billion. This consisted of an increase in debt to banks (including Poland's central bank NBP) by PLN 4.1 billion (to PLN 597.2 billion), domestic non-bank investors by PLN 21.1 billion (to PLN 425.9 billion) and non-residents by PLN 1.9 billion (to PLN 148.4 billion)," the ministry wrote.
"As a result, the share of banks (including Poland's central bank NBP) in domestic Treasury securities debt decreased to 51.0 percent from 51.7 percent in November (50.6 percent at end-December 2023) and the share of non-bank investors increased to 36.4 percent from 35.3 percent in November (35.8 percent at end-December 2023)," it added.
The share of non-residents in Poland's Treasury securities debt decreased to 12.7 percent from 13.1 percent at end-November (13.6 percent at end-December 2023).
