Poland's rate cut discussions possible if CPI stabilises in Q4 with expected decreases - c.bank governor

Discussions on rate cuts in Poland will only be possible if CPI inflation stabilises in the fourth quarter of 2025 and if sustainable decrease will be expected in further quarters, Poland's central bank NBP governor told a press conference following a Monetary Policy Council's decision on interest rates made on Thursday.


"If, for example, inflation will start stabilising in the last quarter of 2025 and there will be an expectation of sustainable decreases in CPI in the following months (...), then of course rate cuts could enter the discussion," said Glapinski, when asked if discussions on interest rate cuts could begin in the second half of the year.
