Poland's SPV PEJ obtains another decision on first nuclear power plant construction
The Pomeranian governor has issued a decision determining the location for the second stage of activities related to connecting the construction site of Poland's first nuclear power plant to the electricity distribution network, Poland's 100-percent state-owned nuclear power SPV PEJ announced on its website.
As indicated, thanks to the connection to the network of Poland's largest energy concern's subsidiary distribution unit, Energa Operator, the construction site of the future power plant will gain constant and secure access to electricity, which is very important for preparatory work and, above all, construction work.
"We are pleased with another administrative decision that supports further activities at the site of the future power plant. This is one of the components of the accompanying infrastructure, related to the preparations for the implementation of the nuclear investment," said PEJ's CEO Marek Woszczyk, quoted in the announcement.
This is the second stage of an investment aimed at providing electricity for the construction of a nuclear power plant in the municipality of Choczewo.
According to the announcement, PEJ plans to obtain a building permit for this investment, which is part of the infrastructure accompanying the construction of a nuclear power plant in Pomerania, later this year.
Construction work will begin early next year and will be completed at the turn of the first and second quarters of 2026.
