Polish employers have neither redundancies nor new hires in mind - stats office
Polish employers are planning neither redundancies nor new hires, according to the newest study conducted by Poland's stats office GUS.
"The surveyed areas of the economy continue to be dominated by plans to maintain employment of both relatively easy and difficult-to-replace employees," GUS wrote in the commentary to the study.
"Wholesale trade companies stand out in particular, with 92 percent reporting that they will maintain employment of workers who are relatively difficult to replace and 86.8 percent reporting that they will maintain employment of employees relatively easy to replace," it added.
Poland's stats office GUS' study shows that, according to the declarations of the entities, the factors significantly influencing the level of employees' remuneration are the financial situation of the company and maintaining the real value of wages (inflationary increases).
In the December survey, there was a preponderance of assessments indicating that decisions on employment and remuneration are made by respondents significantly more on the basis of current data than on the basis of long-term expectations.
