Polish firms can invest in RES and produce energy from coal, says state assets minister
Energy companies can simultaneously make investments in renewables and produce energy from coal, state assets minister Jakub Jaworowski told journalists.
Minister Jakub Jaworowski reported that energy companies are beginning to make large investments in renewable energy sources, but this is passing without much notice.
As an example, he cited the Baltica 2 project, which is expected to cost almost PLN 30 billion (EUR 7.1 bln) and will use funds from the national recovery plan KPO. The minister pointed out that such investments are fundamental for energy security and the economic development of the country.
"In our view, coal assets still generate value, and the example of the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm project shows that companies can still make green investments and produce energy from coal at the same time," he added.
