Polish government to be reshuffled in July, with new faces joining structures, says PM

In July, there will be a reshuffle of the government and its structure, with new faces joining the government, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk told an expose in the Polish parliament prior to the confidence vote for his government. Tusk also warned against public disputes within the coalition and called for mutual loyalty and solidarity.

"Already in July, we will announce a new beginning following the government reshuffle. I am not talking about a change of names, but primarily about a change in the structure of the government. (...) And there will definitely be some new faces," Tusk announced.

"In June, the government spokesperson we appoint will also reorganise the way we communicate and provide information about what we are doing in Poland. I have also received a whole package of changes from all ministries, which will take place in this chamber shortly. Of course, if we also get the president's signature in the end," he added.

The Prime Minister explained that, among other things, his government will return to those projects that are "intended to rebuild true justice in Poland." According to Tusk, one of the tests will be the project to separate the prosecutor general from the political minister. As he said, this project is ready.

Donald Tusk also pointed to the need of mutual loyalty and solidarity within the so-called Coalition of October 15.

"(...) What probably sets us apart from the opposition, from our opponents, is that we are able to discuss things with each other all the time. But let me warn you, we should not tolerate, and I certainly will not tolerate in the government, disputes that turn into public arguments and a lack of trust in each other," he said.

"What is the outcome of conflict in a team that should be driven by a single goal, a single spirit? (...) Let's not make such mistakes. We need to re-understand what teamwork means. And teamwork means mutual loyalty, trust, victory and solidarity towards the outside world," Poland's Prime Minister stressed.
