UPDATE: Poland's central bank grants PLN 655 mln lombard loan
Poland's central bank NBP has granted a lombard loan for PLN 655 million (EUR 154.45 mln) on Friday, May 9, NBP said on its website. This is the highest lombard loan granted by the central bank since April 2016 (PLN 416 million our EUR 98.1 mln), and before that since 2008.
Poland's central bank grants banks a lombard loan secured by a pledge of rights in securities. The lombard credit is repaid by the bank on the next operating day after the day on which it was granted. NBP may also set a different period for the use of the lombard credit.
The central bank's lombard rate stands at 5.75 percent.
