TVN to remain within US-based Warner Bros Discovery
One of the biggest TV stations in Poland, TVN, will remain within the structures of the US-based Warner Bros Discovery, TVN wrote in a letter sent to its employees.
"Over the last few months, we have been reviewing strategic options for TVN. One of the options considered was the sale of the company. Such a process is not unusual for listed companies such as Warner Bros Discovery," the letter said.
"Today, we would like to inform you that we have completed this stage. We have decided that the optimal option is for TVN to remain within the structures of Warner Bros Discovery and to develop our business within one group," it added.
According to media reports, the highest bid for TVN was made by Polish billionaire Michal Solowow.
Among the bidders were also a consortium of around 30 Polish investors with listed media group Wirtualna Polska. Moreover, in recent weeks there has been news that Ringier Axel Springer Polska's (RASP), known as the owner of Onet, Fakt and Newsweek, wants to acquire the station in cooperation with private equity fund CVC Capital Partners.
