Listed spacetech company Creotech Instruments will build Poland's national satellite constellation CAMILA, a strategic contract with the European Space Agency has been signed, the company said in a market filing. The value of the project is close to EUR 52 million, of which Creotech Instruments claims almost EUR 26 million.
In the CAMILA project, Creotech Instruments is the prime contractor for a system consisting of three observation satellites and a ground segment providing satellite control and satellite data processing.
The national satellite constellation was procured by Poland's Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, which selected the European Space Agency to implement and manage the tender.
The CAMILA project will be implemented from April 2025 to December 2027.
"Ten years ago, Creotech Instruments developed an ambitious strategy to become Europe's next prime space mission integrator and contractor (prime company)," Creotech CEO Grzegorz Brona, quoted in the market filing, said.
"In December 2024, we signed the first huge contract to supply a full satellite system to the Polish Army, a programme called MIKROGLOB. Today, we are signing another contract of comparable scale, which completes our vision and fulfils the goal set a decade ago," he added.
The CEO underlined that CAMILA is a project of strategic importance, both for Creotech Instruments and the entire European space sector.
As indicated, the contract signed on April 15 this year covers the preparation of three satellites: one radar, one high-resolution optical and one lower-resolution optical.
