Poland's median salary at PLN 6,500 in March - stats office
In April, the median salary in the national economy was PLN 6,500 (EUR 1,516), 21.9 percent lower than the average gross salary, Poland's stats office GUS reported.
Earlier, GUS reported that the median salary in the national economy in March was PLN 6,549.22 (EUR 1,527.87).
The value of the median salary indicated differences by gender - for men it amounted to PLN 6,740.66 (EUR 1,572.53) and was PLN 448.54 (EUR 104.64) higher than for women.
The stats office reports that taking into account the age of the employed, it can be seen that the highest value of the median occurred in the 35-44 age range and amounted to PLN 6,834.44 (EUR 1,594.41).
By entity size, the highest value of median wages occurred in entities with 1,000 or more employees and amounted to PLN 8,003.40 (EUR 1,867.11).
In April, 10 percent of the lowest earners received a salary of at most PLN 4,242 (EUR 989.62). In turn, 10 percent of the highest earners received remuneration of at least PLN 13,012 (EUR 3,035.57).
The average salary in the national economy in April 2024 was PLN 8,323.00 (EUR 1,941.67).
In April, the highest median value occurred in the Information and Communication sector, where it amounted to PLN 10,603.12 (EUR 2,473.60).
